Grietas de Acero is a solo show by Los Angeles and Mexico City-based artist Karla Ekaterine Canseco that explores— using ceramic as the primary medium— the power of touch to transform bodies into vessels imprinted with memories. From the mythological archetype of the dog, to our mortal human figures, and the earth itself, every physical body registers the gestures that have been imposed upon it. This exhibition seeks to peel back the layer of the present to reveal what lies beneath the surface of these familiar beings.
