Richard Heller Gallery is excited to present, "Oracle," an exhibition by the internationally renowned artist Von Wolfe. This exhibition, running from February 17 to March 23, 2024, will feature thirteen remarkable works. In "Oracle," Von Wolfe skilfully examines the intricate relationship between humans and their animal counterparts, centring on felines and canines in enigmatic roles of guardianship. The intriguing contrast of these animals against humans, adorned in luxurious, modern attire, intensifies the theme of 'otherness'. This concept is further expanded as the artist composes human figures against immense, idol-like structures, blending architectural magnificence with hints of futuristic AI. Such a portrayal blurs the lines between the familiar and the unknown, prompting deeper reflection on the interplay of past, present, and future. Central to Von Wolfe's collection is the fusion of traditional painting techniques with cutting-edge AI technology, creating works that weave historical narratives with the vibrancy of modern life. The paintings, some of which feature dramatic American landscapes reminiscent of Arizona's Monument Valley as backgrounds for the stories, contrast sharply with other works set against stark, empty interiors, thus creating diverse narrative spaces. Richard Heller Gallery invites you to immerse yourself in the vision and innovative breadth of Von Wolfe's latest creations. Characterized by 'cultural quantumism,' a term coined by the artist, his work interlaces diverse historical elements within a modern context, crafting a complex cultural commentary that transcends postmodern fragmentation. About the Artist: Von Wolfe, a British artist with German and Polish roots, is an alumnus of York University where he studied Philosophy. He is also a direct descendant of Baron von Schlossberg, who served as the court painter to King Ludwig II of Bavaria, often referred to as the Swan King. Currently residing and working in London, Von Wolfe has carved a distinct artistic niche for himself. His artistry is a fusion of historical elements and contemporary trends merging traditional oil painting techniques with cutting-edge technologies utilizing algorithmic diffusion models and node-based AI systems. His work serves as a bridge between disparate eras transcending historical limitations. Achieving international recognition, his artwork has been showcased in esteemed art institutions globally. These include Paris' Musée Quai Branly, Helsinki's Ateneum Museum, Stockholm's National Museum and the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille.
