VENUS 2.0 is a large-scale multi-media music performance by Tyler Matthew Oyer.
Set within a fantastic and dystopian dream-like sculptural and light installation, Oyer creates a full-length performance concert that combines their history with and research into the nightclub, esoteric rituals, experimental/queer theatre, and altered states of reflection, ecstasy, and togetherness. The movement of two performers mimics the celestial orbit of Earth and Venus as they orbit the sun - a metaphorical exploration of queer relationality beyond this planet and its oppressive forces.
In this gestamkunstwerk, the connective tissue is Oyer’s original music album BERLIN ALIEN.
VENUS 2.0 is a conjuring. It is a fantasy. It is a temporary release from the here and now.
