Shit Art Club proudly presents Merritt Spangler's debut solo show, "Reckless Abandon." Spangler's artistic practice is driven by an insatiable need for extraordinary adventures and experiences, breaking free from the confines of a traditional studio. In "Reckless Abandon," Spangler delves into the inherent advantages that establishments hold over individuals, inviting viewers to witness the vulnerability, resilience, and unique individuality within each piece. Utilizing assemblages of found materials and unconventional media such as guitar strings and whiskey, Spangler metaphorically challenges established norms and showcases a multifaceted artistic vision. The exhibition embraces ambiguity of form and explores the complexities of perception. Merritt Spangler is a multidisciplinary artist. Her work has been selected by prestigious galleries like London-based Delphian Gallery and has appeared in private collections from Germany to Saudi Arabia. She has exhibited in galleries across the world from San Francisco to Lisbon, and attended multiple artist residency programs including PADA Studios and JOYA.
