Join us in the galleries at Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) for a Closing Reception celebrating "UPEND Female Experience and Activism" and "Displacing Structures," followed by an Artist Talk with the curator and artists of UPEND.
This will be the final opportunity to view the exhibitions. Refreshments will be provided for the Closing Reception from 1pm to 3pm, and the Artist Talk will begin at 3pm.
UPEND Female Experience and Activism
Contemporary feminist issues are explored through the lens of radical empathy for the female experience. UPEND includes works by Kennedi Carter, Nonny de la Peña with Emblematic Group, Ibuki Kuramochi, Andrea Patrie, Elyse Pignolet, She Loves Collective, Suzanna Scott, Sheli Silverio, and Kayla Tange and is curated by AGCC Director of Exhibitions, Cecelia Koger.

Displacing Structures
Traditional fiber techniques are expanded upon to reveal and embrace the personal, queer bodies, and the tensions between structure and aberration. Displacing Structures is curated by Fafnir Adamites, with works by Fafnir Adamites, Molly Haynes, José Santiago Perez, Jade Yumang, and Tomorrow, Asteroid x Jeanne Medina Le.

'UPEND Female Experience and Activism' and 'Displacing Structures' are on view through August 17th, 2024 with free public visiting hours Thursdays through Saturdays, from 10am to 4pm.
