About the artist: Cheryl Molnar’s collage paintings depict surreal landscapes incorporating topographic and architectural elements from both the east and west coasts of the United States, reflecting her New York/Los Angeles upbringing. Her immersive environments evoke strong sense memories inspired by iconic, often mid-century modern constructions, familiar panoramic views and indigenous plant life. Exhibition Statement: Head space, Inner space, outdoor space, and personal space ... this exchange sees spaces as ideas no matter how disparate and brings them together….’in this excessively polarizing period of this country, this exchange brings spaces, thoughts and ideas together. What appears to be a division, upon deeper reflection is a common ground we all share which is how we all relate to the spaces we share here and there…Coast to coast…etc…. Room space, mind space, how we all deal with spaces - inner and outer, landscape - internally and externally - creating a balance - how do we deal with the opposites of interior and exterior, looking inward and outward.
