Night Gallery is delighted to announce a benefit show for Artists 4 Democracy, opening Saturday, August 31, at our 2050 Imperial Street location with a reception from 4-6 PM. The exhibition will take place in our Chapel Viewing Room. The exhibition features work by California-based artists Michelle Blade, Josh Callaghan, Heather Day, Iva Gueorguieva, Jake Longstreth, Acacia Marable, Henry Taylor, and Ben Tong. A4D will bring workshops and artist talks to a growing list of campuses to help students find their way to the polls and to encourage political engagement through artmaking and canvassing. Artists 4 Democracy is a volunteer organization that mobilizes the art community to engage civically and art students (who traditionally have low voter turnout) to vote. Through campus workshops, artist talks, art sales, fundraisers, canvassing, voter registration drives, and political events, they foster and protect our participatory democracy.
