We are pleased to announce the New Wight Biennial 2024: Social Sediment Social Sediment is a group exhibition revealing the many layers of cultural deposits found on Tongva, Chumash, and Kizh territories—also known as “Los Angeles.” Participating artists are current and recent alumni of graduate programs: USC, ArtCenter, Cal State LA, UC San Diego, Otis, CalArts, UCI, CGU, UCSB, Claremont University, and UC Riverside. Works in the show interrogate relationships to land, water, industrialization, and media. As a record and an act of recording, this exhibition asks viewers to consider their own relationship to the land they reside on and what layers of “sediment” are they contributing. Social Sediment Exhibition: Thursday, September 26 - Thursday, October 10, 2024 Gallery Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4:30 pm.
