Moon & Stars showcases the individuality, creativity and cultural diversity of Femme Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Artists of California. The series started in 2023 to be part of the annual National AAPI Heritage Month celebrations through fine art and as a response to anti-Asian hate crimes that had risen across the country during the pandemic. In 2024 the theme was refined to focus exclusively on the art of Femme AAPI artists. The shift represented the first-of-its-kind, an initiative highlighting the individuality, diverse heritage and chosen cultural expressions of those who have been historically under-represented, as well as often mis-represented in the Art World and society art large. This groundbreaking exhibition challenges stereotypes and celebrates artistic innovations of 20 accomplished and emerging artists whose practices span a wide spectrum of contemporary themes, materials and techniques
