Ends Mar 29, 2025
Murmurs is pleased to announce our upcoming group exhibition Mother/Land, opening next Saturday in the main gallery, March 29th from 5 to 8pm. Mother/Land brings together nine female artists whose work engage with materials drawn from the natural world to explore the deep and intricate relationship between humanity and the earth. Through sculpture and painting, these artists reflect on questions of ecology, our place in the universe, and the urgent need for reconnection with nature. In doing so, art becomes both a healing practice and an act of restoration. Each artist in this show incorporates organic or natural materials to create pieces that serve as powerful tools to memorialize places of personal significance—whether they be a home or a motherland. The materiality of their creations underscores art’s role in preserving memory and honoring the fragility of the environments that shape our lives. At the intersection of environmental consciousness and personal history, these works also address broader socio-political themes, including race, gender, identity, labor, and diaspora. Through their poignant use of natural materials and processes, these artists offer a profound commentary on both the resilience and fragility of our environments, urging us to reconsider our place within it and to acknowledge the healing power of art. ____ Murmurs is pleased to announce EARTHSHINE, a solo exhibition by Dylan DeRose, opening next Saturday, March 29th, from 5 to 8 pm in the front gallery space. This marks the artist’s first solo show in Los Angeles, where DeRose will unveil -Fields, a new body of work that reveals the hidden landscapes of our digital world.
