Tea for Two: The Teapots of Gloria and Sonny Kamm
8415 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048, USA
Tomorrow, May 10 at 3:00 PM 5:00 PM
Ends Aug 30, 2025
Celebrate this entertaining and wide ranging selection of imaginative teapots by contemporary artists from the largest teapot collection in the world, held by the Kamm Teapot Foundation founded by Los Angeles collectors Sonny and Gloria Kamm. Disciplines as diverse as metalworking, woodworking, fiber, paper—and of course ceramics—will be represented, along with myriad creative interpretations of the teapot's standard features: pot, spout and handle. The boundary-pushing surface treatments include embroidery, enamel, collage, knotting, electroforming, and pistachio shells among others. Unique, one-of-a-kind teapots made by important contemporary designers, architects, painters, sculptors, ceramicists and craftspeople, often with a non-traditional approach to media, are the main thrust of this significant collection.
