117 North Sycamore St. Santa Ana, CA 92701 USA
Saturday, June 7 at 6:00 PM 10:00 PM
Ends Jun 28, 2025
The word resilience is derived from the Latin verb resilire, meaning to jump back or to recoil, akin to a human being’s ability to bounce back after one of life’s impactful challenges. The curators of resilire have assembled a group of six female artists from diverse cultural backgrounds whose art embodies the resilience they have cultivated through their life experiences. Throughout history, women have demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. Women artists in particular have exhibited extraordinary creativity to address their own and others’ travails. OCCCA is pleased to present resilire, in which curators Dalibor Polivka and Beverly Jacobs have assembled a group of six distinguished female artists from diverse cultural backgrounds. Their artworks portray the resilience they have each developed through personal and shared experiences of significant hardships and struggles. This exhibition honors the indomitable spirit of women artists, showcasing how resilience enables them to thrive, create and achieve success. An exhibition featuring the works of Sandy Bleifer, Francesca Lalanne, Amandine Nabarra, Kyomi Fukui Nannery, Soheila Siadate, and Jane Szabo. Curated by Beverly Jacobs and Dalibor Polivka.
