In the beginning, everything was trans. In the beginning, everything was queer. The fifth iteration of Emily Lucid’s curatorial series EDEN- founded and curated by Lucid and guest co-curated by Matthew Brannon, will feature a group of artists working across disciplines. Thematically the work exhibited will branch around notions of intersections of transness, queerness, the divine and the organic. EDEN is a collaborative benefit for The Trans Latin@ Coalition, an organization dedicated to advocating for and directly supporting transgender people of color as well the trans community at large. Through imagining the start, one delineates their vision for the future. In a moment of shutting down, boarding up, locking doors, delusional nostalgia, and conservatism, In a cultural moment of facing the end of transness and queerness as we know it; EDEN is a meditation on potential beginnings.
