pistor is a Mexican maker and keen observer who finds joy in capturing life’s often overlooked
details through analogue, digital photography, and video. With an extensive body of work in
documenting performance art, pistor’s material has been exhibited internationally in Mexico,
Italy, Bolivia, and the United States. Music has also served as a continuous source of
inspiration, leading to the creation of live video projections for musicians during their
performances. Years of work in performance art documentation and audiovisual
experimentation laid the groundwork for a shift into a new terrain upon moving to Los Angeles-
where alternative photographic processes became part of an evolving practice.
Inspired by the clash of natural and artificial lights in the city, L.A. takes exhibits a diverse
experimental body of work, ranging from analogue darkroom technics such as color film prints, black-and-white mural printing, chemigrams, mordançage, as well as digital representations of illuminated liquids reacting to several frequencies.
