The MAK Center for Art and Architecture is pleased to announce the 25th iteration of Garage Exchange Vienna—Los Angeles: Untitled Energy, featuring Vienna-based artist Anna Jermolaewa and Los Angeles-based artist Sophie Friedman-Pappas at the Mackey Apartments Garage Top. Anna Jermolaewa’s practice utilizes a wide variety of media including video, installation, painting, performance, photography, and sculpture to explore sociopolitical topics through a unique and poetic lens. Sophie Friedman-Pappas’ sculptures and works on paper interpret the material infrastructure of her environment, unveiling its underlying political construction. This exhibition highlights the artists’ practices that flourish with inspiration while exploring topics of oppression and historical unrest.
