Rhett Baruch Gallery is thrilled to announce our newest exhibition at the Melrose gallery, Wish You Were Here. This exhibition is about memory being reconstructed, reframed, and reimagined through fragments of culture and personal history through the lens of three painters. This summer show features Edward Givis, Satoshi Okano, and Kristopher Raos who work across different geographies and employ vastly different techniques. However, each artist is tethered to the same impulse: to revisit and reinterpret everyday moments and images that shape their lives today. Together their imagery evokes a kind of visual time capsule, one that shifts between the intimate and the universal, the discarded and the iconic, the past, present and future. Across found objects, screen references, signage, and pop culture artifacts, Wish You Were Here captures the sweet spot where memory meets media and nostalgia becomes a shared language.
We invite you to join us for the opening reception on Thursday, July 24 from 5-8pm at Rhett Baruch Gallery located at 6057 Melrose Ave
90038. Refreshments are provided and rideshare is highly encouraged.
