Unfolding Memories bridges past and present through art, storytelling, and music, shedding light on the experiences of Japanese and Japanese Americans during WWII. On view at LA Artcore through August 31, 2025, this three-week exhibition features original works inspired by interviews with the individuals who experienced the war. The exhibition's closing weekend will include a live musical performance by LA-based musicians Maggie Parkins, Breeze Smith, and Matt Piper on August 30, 6pm. By reflecting on the cost of war in both nations—Japan and the United States—Unfolding Memories underscores how the lessons of the past continue to resonate in today’s sociopolitical climate.
