If there is an afterlife, how does that shape your life now? Artist, Priyanka Pulijal, turns to the Lokas, the 14 realms of existence described in ancient Vedic texts, as a lens for these questions. Traditionally imagined as heavens above and hells below, these worlds offer fantastical depictions of desire, suffering, and transcendence. Pulijal reinterprets them not as literal destinations but as reflections of consciousness and states of mind that we pass through in life as much as in death. Her surreal, folk art invites viewers to step into these realms and consider their own interior landscapes of fear, hope, and longing. The exhibition includes a floral piece by Gabby Masuda, which extends the work into a physical space and heightens the sensory experience. Lokas is both cosmic and personal: an exploration of the afterlife, and a mirror for the many lives we live within ourselves.
