This the Last week to visit these two powerful solo Exhibits at Matter Studio Gallery. Caryl St Ama works in Encaustic building layers of texture and pigment, creating rich abstract works reflecting light and texture, evoking references of the micro and the macro simultaneously. While Yrneh Gabo, in Gallery B takes us on his journey researching Salt through out the African continent in his last 7 years of residency's in many countries including Botswana, Senegal, with his current plans to travel to Cape Verde. His research delves into the history and impact of the mining of salt, the salt in the oceans, the salt in our bodies, the salt as commodity and commerce, and the salt in our tears. Salt connecting us to each other and all life forms. These shows will close this Sunday, Oct. 19, from 4-6 pm.
