Closing Walk-Through: She Who Made Me
969 Chung King Rd., Los Angeles, CA 90012
Saturday, January 3 at 11:00 AM 2:00 PM
Ends Jan 3, 2026
Charlie James Gallery invites the public to a closing walk-through of She Who Made Me, a group exhibition curated by Mary Anna Pomonis, on the final day of the exhibition, Saturday, January 3. The gallery will be open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a casual walk-through at 1:00 PM. Many of the participating artists will be present throughout the day from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering an informal opportunity for conversation and reflection. Installed in the gallery’s lower-level space directly beneath Pomonis’s solo exhibition, She Who Holds the Sun, She Who Made Me operates as the conceptual and emotional foundation for the larger project. Together, the two exhibitions explore loss, recovery, and artistic lineage in the wake of the 2025 Eaton Fire, which destroyed an entire body of Pomonis’s earlier work. She Who Made Me gathers artists whose mentorship, influence, and care have shaped Pomonis’s practice, foregrounding feminist networks of support, matrilineal exchange, and creative resilience. Part memory book and part devotional, the exhibition affirms that artistic creation is sustained through shared histories and collective care. Participating Artists: Alexandra Grant, Allison Stewart, Carole Caroompas, Carolyn Castaño, Cayce Zavaglia, Daniela Garcia Hamilton, Elise Neal, Judy Chicago, Julie Orser, June Edmonds, Maya Mackrandilal, Paula Wilson, Sabina Ott, Susan Mogul
