Drawing on her essay in the winter issue, “Written and Bitten: Ulysses Jenkins and the Non-Ontology of Blackness,” Aria Dean will introduce Jenkins’ work, followed by a screening, and conversation between the artist Ulysses Jenkins and LA Municipal Gallery curator Erin Christovale about Jenkins’ work, focusing on the late 1970s and early 1980s.
