5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036
Monday, March 20 at 7:30 PM 9:00 PM
Ends Mar 20, 2017
In conjunction with L.A. Exuberance: New Gifts by Artists, Mark Hagen, Analia Saban, and Anna Sew Hoy discuss contemporary art practice in Southern California. As some artists draw upon the legacies of found objects and assemblage, as well as Los Angeles's urban landscape, this panel will discuss the urban ecology and archeology in their materials and approaches. Additionally, the ways in which building materials, multiple fabrication methods, and the industrial setting of many studio locations will be discussed. Rita Gonzalez, curator and acting department head of contemporary art at LACMA, will moderate the conversation.
