A women-led group exhibition of work by Los Angeles-based artists Audrey Schmidt, Cherry, Kaia King-Hall, Mabel Parker, and Vern Molidor. The pieces, including graphite drawings, atmospheric photography, and naturalistic ceramic works, offer a fresh look into the world of upcoming LA art. This is the first group show thrown by Audrey Schmidt, located on the top floor of the Bendix Building, a historic spot for artists, studios, and gallery spaces. Tara Zorthian of Tara and the Little Stars will be performing eclectic songs on the rooftop overlooking the city lights of DTLA to accompany the show. Abundant Spring evokes a sense of playfulness and sentimentality, from Mabel Parker’s nostalgic graphite work to Kaia King-Hall’s colorful explorations of sexuality and the external gaze. Altogether, this show represents a diverse array of work from a carefully curated selection of young female artists and functions as a strong start to spring 2023.
