Deluge Vol. IV featuring Honour and Kelman Duran
4901 Compton Avenue, Los Angeles 90011
Tomorrow, October 5 at 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Ends Oct 5, 2024
Deluge returns with the U.S. debut of enigmatic PAN-signee Honour, presenting a site-specific performance in a uniquely historic space. Honour’s 2023 debut LP, Àlááfíà, remains one of the most dynamic experimental releases in recent memory, and the ensuing series of performances have continued to demonstrate the artist’s bold and uncompromising vision.
Alongside Deluge resident Kelman Duran’s singularly haunted soundscapes, Honour will transform Rudolph Schindler’s Bethlehem Baptist Church (now Optima Funeral Home) into a phantasmagoric space of memory, loss and spiritual rebirth. The newly commissioned work entitled “for Julianna (is this Yours?),” continues Honour’s exploration of spaces between the physical and spiritual realm; the unseen world at large and the unseen world of family mysteries...."Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned”.

Deluge is a music performance series that seeks to explore the depths and outer reaches of ambient, experimental and avant-garde sound. The series aims to create environments for deep listening and discourse around boundary-pushing work by BIPOC artists, building upon the rich landscape of ambient and experimental music performance in Los Angeles with a socially and critically engaged approach.
